Tasty ideas for drinks, salads, and sweets to complete your holiday. This round-up of Memorial Day Weekend Recipes for Desserts and Salads makes the cookout or gathering complete.

    Cucumber salad, cookies, and parfaits

It feels like it's been so long since our last three-day weekend, but great news folks: Memorial Day Weekend is coming! It's time once again to celebrate with food, to dust off some Memorial Day recipes—old favorites for sure, and some new ones, too.

If you're like us, you'll do some relaxing during the holiday weekend, spend time outside, maybe catch a Memorial Day parade, and quite likely spend time with family and friends at a cook-out.

There are plenty of Memorial Day weekend grilling ideas out there for the main dish, like burgers, steak, barbecue chicken, and kabobs. I have a couple here: grilled Sausage, Peppers, and Onions, or making a smoky Grilled Corn Salsa!

However, we're here to celebrate the other favorite dishes of this holiday: the Memorial Day desserts, drinks, and salads! There are lots of recipe ideas to choose from, and they're full of flavor, made with fresh ingredients, and easy to make.

    Sharing recipes on the news

Not long ago I was lucky enough to share a couple of these dishes with the sweet folks on The Morning Brew, on our Fox Local 22/44 news station. Check it out!

Gathered here for you are some tasty ideas for drinks, salads and sweet desserts to complete your cookout. The burgers and dogs will take center-stage but you can't beat a great cold, summer salad piled on the plate next to the grilled goods. And you have to have a dessert... otherwise the party just feels incomplete!
