The fresh fruit season is in full swing! In our area local strawberry patches have their signs out at roadsides, to entice folks to come on in and load a flat with hand-picked berries. Cherries are abundant now too. Garnet-colored fruits are loaded into plastic bags that overflow the produce bin at the grocery store. On our little cherry trees in our front yard we have a decent blush of fruit too, and we have to rush to pick them before the birds swoop in to have their fill.
