All about radishes

Radishes (Raphanus sativus) are part of the mustard family of plants, one that includes cabbage, Brussels sprouts, and horseradish. The red root of the radish plant can be round or elongated in shape, and though it's usually eaten raw can also be sautéed or roasted.
Radish leaves are also edible and can be added to salads, lightly cooked, or blended into green sauces.
Small red radishes have a sharp, earthy flavor that can be peppery and even slightly spicy. Daikon radishes can be green on the outside with a red interior (watermelon radish) or be completely white and resemble a carrot in shape. The flavor of daikon tends to be slightly milder than red radishes.
How to store radishes

After picking your radishes from the garden or bringing them home for the store, place them in a plastic bag with a damp paper towel. Store them in the crisper drawer of your fridge for about one week.
You can also store radishes (with greens and roots removed) submerged in a sealed jar of water in the fridge. They last as long as two weeks this way.

Radish FAQs
To store radishes so that they'll last, first remove the greens if they're still attached. Place the radishes in a resealable bag or a covered container; place a paper towel in the bag or dish to absorb moisture. Store radishes in the fridge; they'll last for a week to 10 days.
