In the National Girl Scouts Cookie Recipe contest, my recipe was a finalist fighting for the top spot. Shortly after the voting closed I learned that my recipe won the Grand Prize with a total of 1,733 votes!
After learning of the win, I found myself on a roller coaster ride. Not the terrifying sort, mind you—the exciting, exhilarating ride that you remember forever and rave about to your friends!
I was so touched by the number of people who reached out to me with congratulations, and to say that they voted many, many times for my entry.
Family, friends, my friend's families—my family's friends—coworkers, people who follow my blog and its social pages, my daughter's friends at college, my son's friends from school, the students I worked with, and their families. How incredible, humbling, and wonderful.
The Grand Prize win gave me opportunities to speak to our local paper and television station about not only the winning recipe but this blog as well.

And so, to everyone who supported me with votes, shares, encouragement, and mutual giddy excitement for that entire crazy week: a heartfelt

Whoo, hoo! Congrats again, Nancy! You deserve it. That recipe is amazing. I made it and brought it to share at Kaela's last Girl Scout meeting. I told them it was your prize-winning recipe. It was a big hit!
